Yellow Advisory - Blowing Snow
4:41 p.m. EST Saturday 17 January 2026

Impact Level: Moderate

Forecast Confidence: High

Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected in some locations.

What:
Significantly reduced visibility in blowing snow.

When:
Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening.

Additional information:
A low pressure system will bring light snow Sunday morning. Strong winds gusting up to 60 km/h will then develop Sunday afternoon as the system passes, producing blowing snow.

Travel will likely be hazardous due to near-zero visibility.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. If driving, turn on your lights, slow down and maintain a safe following distance. Protect yourself from wind, cold and disorientation by staying sheltered, indoors or with your vehicle.

Blowing snow advisories are issued when widespread poor visibility in blowing snow is expected.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on X using #ONStorm.
